To
Distribute a short hunger quiz to Walkers as they register. Ask them to answer the quiz as they Walk. Checking with other Walkers for answers is definitely encouraged! Post the correct answers at the end of the Walk. Collect quizzes with participant's name on it after the Walk and hold a drawing for a gift. For a sample quiz see our Build a Village website, available from your CWS Regional Office. The various fact sheets and promotional fliers from Church World Service provide other information, if you want to make up your own.
Materials Needed
- Printed quizzes for each walker
- Gift for drawing
Variations
- Provide the answers along the way at rest stop displays.
- Include questions related to local hunger needs, and the work of local agencies.
- Make the quiz in the form of a passport. At rest stops highlight a particular country or region of the world, including the work of indigenous colleague agencies to Church World Service (your CWS/CROP Office can help). Quizzes would relate to these displays. When they have correctly answered the quiz the passport is stamped. Collect completed passports at the end of the Walk and hold a drawing for a gift.
