Awards to New Jersey supporters

At the National Council of Churches & Church World Service General Assembly, New Jersey’s Janie Schildge (at right) and the Trenton Ecumenical Area Ministry (TEAM) both received Awards of Excellence.

Schildge has been the volunteer coordinator of the Red Bank CROP Hunger Walk since 1984. Under her leadership the Walk has raised nearly $1.5 million with a volunteer network of some 250 people from over 100 groups. She also serves as a member of the New Jersey Regional Advisory Board.

TEAM dates back to 1941 when the churches of Trenton began to work cooperatively on issues of mutual concern, which today are primarily hunger and the region’s at-risk youth.
